Canon Digital Photography

Filed under: Brands, Cameras, Equipment - 31 Jul 2007

With such large brand names as Nikon and Canon, digital photography is at an all-time height when it comes to popularity. There are so many run-of-the-mill brands out there when it comes to buying a digital camera, and frankly many people probably have no idea where to even begin looking. If not for Canon, digital photography names would probably be rather obscure. Luckily, many of the larger names like Canon digital photography are starting to come out with lower-end cameras that are fit more for a vacation than a Pulitzer winning digital photo.

What’s The Deal With Canon Digital Photography?

The thing about Canon digital photography that seems to set it so far apart from other types of digital photography out there associated with any brand names is because Canon is a brand name that has been known to satisfy and please camera owners for years. Before there were digital cameras, before there were even regular 35 millimeter cameras, Canon was a name in photography so it is only befitting that Canon digital photography be such a thing of prominence in the world of digital photography.

Black And White Digital Photography

Filed under: Basics, Types - 28 Jul 2007

There are very few items that can match the timelessness of a black and white photograph. The lack of color is great for capturing raw emotions and magical moments without the detraction of vibrant colors. Black and white digital photography captures life on its most basic level and heightens the mood and the drama of the photograph. Many individuals choose to have their wedding photos done in black and white to capture the spirit of the day.

Black And White Digital Photography Options

With black and white digital photography, photographers have three options to choose from. The first option is to shoot the pictures in black and white. Many cameras have the ability to shoot in monochrome and the user’s manual for the digital camera will instruct the photographer in how to use this function. The photograph will appear in the viewing window in black and white, so the photographer can see exactly what the picture will look like.

Introduction to Digital Photography

Filed under: Basics, General - 26 Jul 2007

Digital photography uses electronic devices to take a photograph of a particular item and translate the image into binary data, which is readable by a computer. In recent years, the sale of digital cameras has outstripped the sale of traditional film cameras and many retailers have indicated that they are retiring their film camera lines. Digital photography allows the individual taking the pictures to immediately see the images that they have taken and delete any that are not up to standard without having to develop the pictures first, as with film photography.

The Popularity Of Digital Photography

Digital photography is gaining in popularity around the world. Many professional news photographers have switched to obtaining their images digitally because of the high quality of digital images and the ability to immediately review the picture to ensure that they captured the shot. Digital photography is also used by a number of amateur photographers who post the images they take on websites and send the pictures through email to family and friends. Images obtained digitally are easily manipulated with photo editing software that can turn almost any picture taken into a quality photograph by using special filters and effects to alter the appearance of the photo.
