Why I recommend using search engines to find photography information
This write-up was written as a result of a research that led me to discover that whilst the web is second nature to most people there are still millions of people who are interested in photography and have not yet mastered the art of using the internet.
It is now very easy to find any kind if specific information about about photography instantly. Just a few years back you needed to take the whole morning at the library skimming through hundreds of books.
Now you can do it in less than five minutes. You can simply enter a search query and just like that you have a huge categorized and highly relevant list to choose from about photography or niches topics of the same subject.
With so much information presented by search engines the speed and efficiency of using the web can deteriorate if you don’t know how to use it the right way.
Take some time to read through these few but useful operators that you can use. It is not my intention to waste your time with too much information especially because this is simply a helpful guide to help you find the exact information you are looking for. To some this may be just a refresher “course” but I still do encourage you to read on.
Currently the most popular search engine is Google so the tips are more focused on Google.com but you can use them on Yahoo.com.
To make sure your search returns only the pages with the EXACT information you are looking for simply put inverted commas. For example if you want to find course about photography, just type in “photography courses”, If for example you want careers just enter “photography careers”. What you will get there is a list of pages that contain the exact words searched for.
Another alternative is to use the “+” operator. For instance, entering a terms such as “documentary about photography”+ “photography books” will produce results that have both terms appearing somewhere within the page.
You can enter the word “site:” at the beginning of your search followed by the site name and your keyword.Using this one will enable you to search through a site of your choice only.
By following these tips you should be in a better position to find anything online, could be you interest - photography or information you may need in the near future like how to do a reverse search on a cell phone number.
This site offers great content that should help you a great deal. So do take some time to read more of the articles posted here.
