Is it All Really In The Eyes Of An Actors Headshot? How To Give Your Headshot The Edge!
When you take a good look at several actors headshots shots you’ll notice they all have something in common, without realising it you’ll be drawn towards the eyes.
It’s always the eyes.
It’s always the eyes and they should be in the crispest of focus and be full of emotional content.
Once we’ve ascertained that the eyes are the focal point how can we ensure they’re at their very best for your headshot? Firstly the eyes need to be looking in the correct direction.
Professional headshots London
That’s right at the person who eventually looks at your headshot.
For me that’s always directly into the camera, trying to make contact with the viewer.
This may seem as though I’m trying to teach you the very basics – and I am. But I’m deadly serious.
Without getting the basics right you’ll always be struggling to make that great first impression.
If you look at some shots you’ll see the actors looking over the shoulder of the photographer or even worse staring off into the distance with the kind of glazed eyes you’re more likely to see on a dead fish.
As your primary piece of visual marketing your headshot must have impact.
Therefore we don’t want our eyes to be blank and lifeless, do we? We want your eyes to be looking directly into the lens, focused in the correct place, and much more importantly to have some depth of emotional content in them.
This is the way to make sure that whoever is looking at your headshot can see that you have more depth to your personality as an actor.
Picking the right headshot photographer is very important - in fact it is absolutely crucial.
The same as a good director encourages and enthuses you, to give your absolute best performance.
To be honest I’ve had many actors liken the way I work to that of a good director, which I’ve always found to be a great compliment indeed as an actors headshot photographer in London
I find this one simple technique the most important to a successful actors headshot.
Professional headshots London
I’m aware that lots of actors cringe at the very thought of having their headshot taken, they find it uncomfortable looking straight into the lens, and worry about their minor imperfections and idiosyncrasies.
Even though standing on a theater stage in front of hundreds of people or on a film or TV set surrounded by many crew and cast has no effect on them, they quiver at the thought of a stills camera (I’ll explain this phenomena in a future article).
I fully understand the many reasons why actors find having a new headshot done so difficult and luckily I have my own style and techniques for getting around this.
In plain English we’ve established that it’s all your preparation, if you give a little thought to how you can help your actors headshot photographer to get the very best out of your headshot session then you’ll benefit tremendously by having yours stand out and make an impact.

Events to be marked during a wedding
Doing a photo shoot involves a lot of scheduling that is why a timeline is important. A timeline will help you be prepared for all the shots. It will also make a photographer take shots of great moments. So with that in mind we are going to discuss some of the important things that a photographer should do before and during the wedding.
First thing a photographer should do is to determine when he/she could take the family portrait of the couple. As a San Diego wedding photographer I see that the timing of this is different for every wedding. Some people like to take pictures before the wedding happens. This allows them to avoid the hectic time after the wedding. Others prefer after the wedding. By determining when this will be you will be better prepared.
Next important thing to know is the schedule of the start of the wedding. This way you can capture great shots of guests arriving. As a San Diego photographer this is a great time to capture candid shots of your guests. You will also be able to get everything ready for the big ceremony.
Last thing to remember is to know what time the reception will be.This is important since you will know how much time you have left.In other words, you would know how much more shots you can take in the church or wherever the wedding is held before heading to the reception. Doing wedding as a San Diego event photography allows me to coordinate this big event to run smoothly. You do not want being disorganized doing these kinds of events.
So, those are some of the most important things that should be put in a wedding timeline. It should help in making you better prepared during a wedding.A wedding involves a lot of things so it can be very stressful for some. There is a lot of pressure on everybody. As a photographer, you would not want pressure to disrupt your work. You should just be relaxed all throughout the event so that you can do your best work.

Learn secrets to taking great shots with a digital camera
One hobby that is a big industry is photography and people taking photos.Photography is a hobby that is one of the biggest around.People use a lot of their money with camera equipment. And with how advanced the cameras are you would think it is easy to take pictures. But there are some strategies that you should know.We shall give them to you within this article.
One thing you have to be aware of is the exact flash range of the camera. That mistake is made over and over again by a lot of photographers. As a professional San Diego photographer, that is a mistake I can’t afford to make.Practically all cameras have range where there flash works best. The best to know what that range would be is to check the manual.Because when you are out of the flash range when you take a photograph it will be too light or too dark.So know what your cameras flash range is and you will see your photographs come out looking great.
The thing you should know next is that most cameras now come with a scene mode. This gives your camera an easy way to adapt to it’s surroundings. This helps me a lot as a San Diego wedding photographer because the scene mode allows me to adjust it to the time of day. Or it can adjust it so it knows if you are outside or inside. This has your camera taking some great photographs.
Last thing you must do when taking pictures is to always have fun. Of course when I am doing San Diego event photography it is easy to have fun. But when you find yourself taking photographs keep in mind to do it. It will allow you to be in the right state of mind. That mind frame will allow you to have the ability to take some great shots.

Repair That Canon Powershot SD Camera Broken Lens Barrier Yourself!
Many people have asked about repairing their front covers/flaps on their Canon PowerShot SD series cameras, so I’ve written up some instructions. Our lens barrier repair kit is a little tricky to replace on Canon SD series cameras but definately not impossible for you to do yourself. You will need patience, a good eye and a steady hand as well as a small screwdriver. We use dental picks, they work great!
To get things started, turn on the camera to extend the lens and then open the battery door and remove the battery so that the lens stays out. This allows you to easily work on the lens barrier assembly.
First the part we need is the ‘barrel drive ring’, it’s the ring with the small piece that sticks down into the lens. Some cameras don’t have one, so if there isn’t one in your kit then your camera doesn’t need it. Make sure it rotates slightly once it has been inserted, otherwise it’s not in properly and can jam the lens.
Next we will install the barrier plates or ‘flaps’ with the springs attached. Put one spring on each of the flaps, there are little tabs to hold them on. They are TINY, they are hard to hold and if you drop it… lets just say DON’T drop it on the carpet, ok? If you do lose some springs, we have them available on their own in our store for you to purchase.
Gently put the flap in the hole with the spring laying towards the post that the free end will mount on; then with something with a very small tip (we use dental picks!) gently grab the loop of the spring and stick it on its post.
If you do this with the lens covers or ‘flaps’ in the open position they will stay in place once you get them properly seated. If everything pops off, just start again. Do not stretch out the springs as they must remain tight or nothing will work properly.
Then gently put on the barrier cover, it’s a flat plastic ring. The tabs on the outer barrier cover match up with small slots in the lens housing and it will lock into place. Be gentle, don’t force anything too hard or you will break it and the parts will not hold it place.
Now you may test your repair prowess! Now we put the battery in and while crossing our fingers, turn the camera on! Is it working? Did it go flying across the room with a cute little *SPROING!* and maybe all the parts scattered all over the place? Yeah I hope not, but I’ve been there myself so you’re not alone.
Once you have it working smoothly …you’re almost done with your first digital camera repair!
Next put the dual sided tape on the barrier cover. CAUTION: Make sure to take the tape off of the backing paper but DON’T remove the paper that matches the shape of the tape on the other side!! Removing the small paper part will cause the tape to fold up on itself and stick together. Bye bye tape!
The tabs fold over the edge, don’t let them stick out or the lens cover won’t fit and the lens will jam. Line up the tape tabs, starting at the 11 o’clock position and then fold down the tabs and press them in.
Now put on your chrome or black lens cap, line up the cap with the small indentation at the bottom, you’ll see how it goes on easily.
Fire up the camera again and admire your handywork! Congratulations you now know more about digital camera repair than the Geek Squad, and they told you it would be 0 and take 3-4 weeks to repair. Whatever Geek Squad… Whatever.
Hmm… I think I’m seeing the beginning of something big here; affordable Canon digital camera repair
